1) The candidate must be a United States resident, who is residing in the United States at the time of the fellowship;

2) The candidate must have completed at least 2 full length plays or at least 3 one-act plays;

3) The candidate must have made a commitment to playwriting as a professional goal;

4) The candidate must have a new play in the very early stages of development, or an idea for a new play, that would benefit from the resources provided by the fellowship;

5) The candidate must never have received a production of his or her work in New York City that was larger than an Actors’ Equity Showcase Code presentation; and

6) The candidate must not be enrolled in a degree/certificate program at the time of the fellowship year.
